Sharing the Care: Building Understanding Around Dementia and Alzheimer’s
Last month, Pathways hosted an educational event with the Sharing the Care Campaign of Northern Colorado, providing an opportunity for our community to learn more about dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
The event covered important topics including the causes and treatments of dementia and Alzheimer’s, as well as resources available to support individuals living with dementia and the families who care for them.
We are especially grateful to Peggy Budai and Danielle Hubbard for sharing their knowledge, insight and valuable resources. Their willingness to educate and support our community helps ensure that families have access to information and connections that can make a meaningful difference as they navigate the challenges of dementia.
Dementia can affect many aspects of a person’s life, as well as the lives of those who love and care for them. Having a better understanding of the condition can help family members, caregivers and community members respond with greater compassion, patience and understanding.
At Pathways, we know that supporting individuals and families means looking beyond a diagnosis. It means recognizing the person, understanding what matters most to them and helping families find the resources and support they need throughout their journey.
Events like this are an important part of building that understanding. By sharing knowledge and learning from one another, we can help create a community where individuals living with dementia and their families feel supported, informed and cared for.
Thank you to the Sharing the Care Campaign of Northern Colorado, Peggy Budai and Danielle Hubbard for helping us continue that important conversation.
