Vision
As a complement to our Honoring Veterans program, the Pathways Hospice staff and volunteer-based task force determined that the veterans we serve along with all former and active US military individuals should be recognized by our agency in a respectful, useful and permanent manner. The on-site garden at 305 Carpenter Road was envisioned as a 2500 square foot gathering space, with landscaped areas to soften the plaza containing the flag pole and offer smaller more intimate areas for solace, reflection and meditation. For notable recognition and to honor the service our distinguished veteran's have provided to our country, we will utilize this garden for special occasions, events and holidays such as an annual Veterans Day Recognition Celebration. It will be free, open to the public and is handicapped accessible.
Why?
With approximately 38,000 veterans residing in Larimer and Weld Counties (2009), who may experience unique challenges at end of life as a result of their military involvement, Pathways Hospice has created a specialized care program for those who've served us and their families. This garden is an extension of this program and is an effort to recognize all US military veterans.
Who?
Hopefully, you - and all those who are interested in this endeavor whether it by be volunteering with this Veterans Program, contributing funds for the garden or helping us make contacts with other interested individuals and donors.
