The Mourning After Information

Creative Therapy Group
Sacred Space Information
In this unique six week workshop, you will have the opportunity to honor, remember, and memorialize your loved one by creating a sacred space to "hold" the varying experiences of love and loss. With the support of trained art therapists/grief counselors and within the context of a small group of fellow grievers, we hope this workshop provides some much needed nourishment, connection, and inspiration for the path you are on.

Writing Through Loss Information
Many people find writing a valuable tool for self-care after the loss of a loved one. Facilitated by a creative writing teacher and grief counselor, this group helps participants gain insights into their grief experience by exploring their thoughts, emotions and circumstances through writing.

Journal by Journaling Information
This group provides support and structure for exploring your loss as you begin, continue, or deepen your journaling. Your journal can be a simple and personal record of your grief journey. You'll discover how your journal can become a helpful companion during this transition.

Special Events
Life and Loss: Stories We Tell Through the Arts Information
An evening of stories of life and loss told through poetry, music dance and visual art. Local poets, musicians, dancers and visual artists will present selections of their work to be savored and enjoyed in a café like setting at the Pathways Hospice Center, 305 Carpenter Road, Fort Collins.
Tickets will be available at the door for $10. All proceeds will help support the expressive therapies programs at pathways for Grief and Loss. More information will be available soon.

Memorial Service Information
An Evening of Remembrance Winter Memorial Service and the Summer Memorial Service are held annually in January and July. We invite anyone in our community for an evening of remembering loved ones. The services can include a slide show honoring loved ones, a message from a hospice staff member and special rituals of remembrance.

Grief and the Holidays Information
The holiday season, especially the first after the death of a loved one, can be a very difficult time. The familiar routines and traditions may seem empty and hollow. If you are like most people in grief, you will have many questions about how to approach the holidays. Surviving the Holidays a presentation for bereaved persons, provides ideas to navigate the holiday season.

Groups for Children and Teens
Grief Buddies Information
This group is a specialized grief support program for grieving families with children. Each week families will meet in age specific groups to share their grief and learn ways to cope and adjust to life without their loved ones. During this group families will work on a project using the metaphor of a garden to discover how to grow and heal as a family and honor their loved one. Dinner will be provided each night.

Kids, Horses and Healing Information
A therapeutic riding retreat for bereaved children and teens, this program is a collaboration between of Pathways Hospice, Community Care for Northern Colorado and the Hearts & Horses Therapeutic Riding Center in Loveland. It helps participants explore grief through activities that will include the care of horses, horseback riding and counseling in a group setting facilitated by a hospice grief counselor.

Teen Art Studio
In this six week program, grieving teens will learn the skills to create an iMovie film using a digital video camera. With the use of video clips, photographs, and music, creating this iMovie will be an opportunity to express their unique grief journey while creating a visual memorial to their loved one.

Widowed Persons Group
On Our Own Information

Heartbeat Information
The Suicide Resource Center of Larimer County (970.635.9301) provides a support group that meets at Pathways Hospice. It is a free, drop-in peer support group for individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide.
